What is the difference between the edding X Multi marker and the permanent marker?

Markers are filled with different types of inks. The edding X multi marker contains a water-based pigmented ink which is odourless. It is opaque, enabling drawings on dark materials - a feature that can be beneficial over traditional edding permanent markers. Unlike the

ink in permanent markers, which is absorbed by a filter inside the marker, pigmented ink is contained within a storage reservoir inside the marker's barrel. The ink is pumped to the nib using a valve system. Consequently, edding X multi markers require shaking and activation prior to their initial use. After drying, the pigments create a closed surface. Therefore, the more ink is applied on the surface, the sturdier it becomes.
